Hi,

I was wondering if there is anything such as an automatic potatoe peeler? Basically, I would like to put a potatoe on a peeler machine and have the skin peeled automatically.

Also, I am wondering if there is a machine for slicing potatoes length-wise (as in French fries) or breadth-wise (as in Pringles potatoe chips)?

Thanks for helping out.

If you are really into potatoes try Zesco [no longer found]. They have peelers and slicers. For Pringles style you need to start by grinding potatoes into mush then reforming them into uniform chips.

I think she was looking for something like a mandoline to slice potatoes thinly rather than a method of reproducing Pringles....

Yes there is. I own a couple gadgets that do that. One I got at a church rummage sale and it holds an apple, potato, etc while a cutting arm removes the skin. I also bought another gadget at a garage sale that is supposed to pell potato skins off. I skim read the directions and it said to add water to this chamber and it looked like a grater on the bottom. We have never tried it yet, so I can't vouch for how it functions. Iirc it was better suited for smaller potatos like the redskins rather than baking potatoes, but I may be wrong. My wife does most of the cooking and she still uses a regular peeler.

Basically you can get the same effect by laying the potatoe on a piece of wood and smacking it repeatedly about the face with your large penis. Just slam your penis against the potatoe and it will peel. Best luck to you!
