Anyone know how long to bake potatoes in a crockpot? I love baked potatoes but the oven gets the kitchen HOT HOT HOT!

Here's what my notorious CP database has to say about that: :)

Crock-Pot Baked Potatoes

Recipe By: Rival Crock-Pot Cookbook

Use 6 To 12 Potatoes

Prick potatoes with fork. Wrap them in foil. Fill Crock-Pot with 6 to 12 potatoes. Cover. Go away. Cook on Low 8 to 10 hours (High: 2 1/2 to 4 hours]. Come back. Don't you dare add water!

>>BTW, does it work if you don't use foil?<<

I don't know. Never tried it without foil and frankly they don't taste as good as microwaved anyways

I just picked up a Rival recipe book at a garage sale and it simply says to fill the crock with scrubbed, well-greased potatoes, cover, cook on low 8-10 hours. And, of course, do not add water.

For the two of us, I cover the bottom of the crockpot with whole, scrubbed potatoes. They conveniently keep, out of the juice that
collects, a small, whole, Cornish Game Hen, rubbed with salt, pepper, paprika and garlic.

Cook on high 30 minutes and then switch to low.

Go to work.

Come home to good smells and dinner ready.

Despite the slow cooking, the bird tends to brown a bit.

These were posted here recently. My apologies to the author...I didn't save the headers.

Although they're not exactly scalloped potatoes (with milk), maybe one will help.
